We've had a facelift! We've been busy here at Home petite Home working on a new look for our website. We hope that you like the results. We felt that it was time for a change, and wanted to reflect just how far we have come in the last two years since we launched our website.

We've had a lot of exciting things happen already this year. We are currently supplying the subscription gifts for Dolls House World, the UK's number one dollshouse magazine. Not content with that, we are also about to launch our NEW, very own 'Mrs Kirkham's' range of quality handmade items. Inspired by a request from one of our very own customers, this range will include pickles, preserves and old fashioned sweets, all with a Traditional flavour! We will keep you posted....

Fancy making some sweet little miniatures for your dollshouse? Well check out the new film released on www.dollshouse.tv that we filmed at their studios earlier in the month. A great place to start is to make some gorgeous little traditional candy canes, lollipops and candies. In the video I show how to start stocking your dollshouse candy shop with a few simple tools and ingredients...why not have a go yourself and let us here at Home petite Home know how you get on.

Yesterday we were with the fabulous Dolls House World team, filming a series of films for Dollshouse.TV

As you can see from the picture this consisted of lots of     preparation and packing of our own workspace and studio, and transporting it all down to beautiful Arundel, West Sussex. Once there we spent the day being filmed, showing viewers of Dollshouse.TV how to make an array of sweet treats, such as candy canes, lollipops, toffee apples, battenburg cake...and much more.

Thanks to all the team for their wonderful warm welcome, and for inviting us to share all our hints and tips for miniaturists who want to have a go at making their own minis.

Look out for the finished films coming soon... and have a go yourself. Also watch out for Home petite Home in future issues of Dolls House World magazine, as we will also be sharing our 'how to' projects with its readers.

 Well the Summer holidays are upon us and here at Home petite Home we have launched our brand new range of handmade jewellery.

  Inspired by pastels, and bright colours alike the range includes all our favourite sweet things.... ....Dolly Mixtures, Liquorice Allsorts... and watch out for our other items that we will be listing in the weeks ahead. These include battenburg, icecream and lollipop inspired pieces.

Gorgeous and simply kitsch, they will be the envy of all your friends. Enjoy the holidays!

This month we were thrilled and delighted that Home petite Home was featured in the August 2011 edition of Dolls House World, the UK's No.1 Miniature magazine.

We would like to give a big thanks to Dolls House World, and also to our lovely customers who support us, adding our items to their miniature collections.

This month we thought that we would give you all a sneaky peek at the face behind our Home petite Home Advertisements. For those of you familiar with our ads in Dolls House World Magazine, you will have noticed that each month we go to great lengths to keep our images fresh, and to feature a different Home petite Home product every time. We thought that it would only be fair to show you the face behind the scenes....so pictured is Rebekah working hard in creating our next ad layout for the Dolls House World July issue, available at the end of the month. You will probably notice when you pick up your own copy, that our little Westie dog seems to have made another appearance... see if you can spot our mini mascot next time!

I had the pleasure of being invited to the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday 23rd October for International Artist Sonia Boyce's book launch - LIKE LOVE. With cupcakes on offer it was hard to resist, and lovely to catch up with all those that had been involved with Sonia's project.

Thanks to all who have supported the museums miniature workshops that Home petite Home were involved with... and we will keep you up to date with any other projects that we will be involved with in the future.

This week saw the first of two workshops, hosted by The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent that I am involved in, the second being on Saturday 18th September.

The first workshop that took place on Monday 23rd August, had a Victorian theme, and the project was to make a little 1/12th scale parasol, a mini notebook or storybook....or even both as many did!

What was so great about the day was the variety in ages and abilities turning up to get involved, (from tots to OAP's) and have some fun with miniatures.

 Don't forget to come along on Saturday 18th    September anytime between 10am and 12pm if you want to join in our second workshop, which will have a WWII Life on the Home Front theme.

This month I've been really busy with a Wedding cake topper, 2 Doll's house commissions and more! As well as keeping the website running I was asked to scuplt a personalised Mickey & Minnie Cake topper to tie in with a 3 tier Wedding cake (see Gallery pictures for the finished result).

    Once Mickey and Minnie were well on the way, the 2 Doll's houses needed to be decorated and lit. If this wasn't enough there was also a Teddy Bear's picnic to make food supplies for, miniature cupcakes to create for a talented jewellry maker, and a Graduation figure to scuplt for a newly qualified Barrister!....Phew!

The great thing about Home petite Home is the variety, and also the challenge of working on different projects.

My husband and daughter went to spy out the Like Love - Part three exhibit at the local museum...!!!

      The exhibit opened just over a week ago and all the videos are now working. The final film shows me making breads and adding them to a set of shelves.

Well, I've had quite a busy month recently. International artist Sonia Boyce completed filming at our house for her latest project Like Love Part Three. (See Press Release on Beyond Home petite Home page) Sonia and Judy (on camera) spent a good part of the day filming and interviewing me! So I thought I'd get my own back by taking some behind the scenes photographs of them hard at work.
